This place was so spacious, clean, and the sea food was fresh. We bought some clams and mussels. The staff were polite and helpful. We are definitely coming back!
We visited this restaurant for the first time and were immediately impressed. Although the ordering process was unfamiliar - you order at the register then choose your seat - the atmosphere was unique, differing from Singleton's Seafood. The food, however, was exceptional. Standouts included the best oysters we've had, Fish Bites, a fresh Lobster Roll filled with chopped lobster, grilled Mahi sandwich, and 20-piece shrimp dinner, all served with fries, hush puppies, and coleslaw. The crab dip and cucumber and tomato salad were also phenomenal, as were the Safe Harbor fries loaded with crab, queso, and chives. Unfortunately, the Key Lime cake was dry, but homemade Key Lime Pie would elevate the experience. Enjoying the water view and breeze outside sealed our decision to return.
If you want great service and delicious seafood a drive out to Mayport is in order. I called ahead to find out if Safe Harbor Seafood Market had fresh Stone Crab claws available and enough for our Easter feast. I checked out the online sources, but why order online when we have the source of great seafood within a reasonable drive time? And no worrying about delivery delays! Highly recommend!
Scott sold me some delicious Pompano and shrimp a few days ago. He was extremely knowledgeable about all of the fish and how to season them. I had a bunch of questions and he was very patient. The rest of the staff was fantastic too. If you want fresh seafood at a fair price, Safe Harbor is a clear winner. Locally owned too? Can’t get better than that. That Pompano made for one of the best dinners my BF and I have had in recent memory. Highly recommend!

Beautiful inside, good prices, extremely clean. Was taking shrimp in my son in VA who misses Mayport shrimp. They bagged in ice for me to carry home. Great selection too, loved it!
Wow! This is the biggest and best seafood market in the region. Amazing assortment of items and excellent customer service. Large whole fish can be bought and butchered to exact specifications by the highly skilled staff. Being near the water makes this place a real destination and worth the effort to get to.
A Safe Harbor experience was the most tranquil and relaxing. It felt like someone tranquilized me. Smiling. I wanted to spend some me time alone. I decided to go to Safe Harbor on the water. The place was clean with no foul smells, well decorated and the service was great. I sat outside and my food was cooked fresh (whole fried red snapper). While I dined in I saw nice boats, tropical birds and calming waters. I will tell everyone, if you have seafood craving go to Safe Harbor!!!! Great Job!!!!
